Thanksgiving for vegetarians

Thanksgiving is on it's way and for vegetarians it may be a sad Holiday because you can't join in the Turkey dinner like everyone else. Of course, it does not make you sad that you are opting out of eating a beatuiful creature. So what do vegetarians eat during the Holidays?

In the past, I did not make mock meat for the holidays. I would make all of the other things that people eat during the holidays, but no turkey. And when I went to eat with the family I would not eat the Turkey. This year, I am going to try Tofurky. I have read reviews about it and they are all mixed. So im going to try it this year (hopefully if I can find it) and show you a pictures and review the Tofurky.

Did you know?
Each year, more than 300 million turkeys are raised and killed for their flesh in the United States alone. Ben Franklin called them "true american originals" yet they have no federal legal protection, so they are abused from the day they are born. There are videos on this, but i'll let you decide if you want to find them.

Obviously, things have changed since the pilgrim years. Animals are not running around freely outside and we don't need to hunt to survive. There are millions and millions of people to feed in the world. How do they do it? How do they get all of these millions and millions of people their turkey dinner? Its not by having a good ol' family farm with a few turkeys running around in happiness. In today's factory farms, thousands of turkeys are crammed into filthy sheds after their beaks and toes are burned off with a hot blade. Many suffer heart failure and become crippled under the weight of their drugged bodies. They are thrown into trucks, and when they arrive at the slaughterhouse, their throats are cut and their feathers are burned off -- many times while they are still conscious. Do the workers care? No, they are making money!
